Abstract

NSAIDs are one of the most widely used drugs in the of pain. The mechanism of action of NSAIDs is primarily related to the inhibition of the synthesis prostaglandins (which mediate the development of inflammation). This action has priority importance in the treatment of inflammatory pain. Diclofenac is the drug of first choice in OA and spondyloarthritis. Etoricoxib, a relatively new NSAID on the Polish market, is the drug of choice in the symptomatic treatment of OA, AS, RA, gout attack, acute pain after hip replacement.
