Abstrakt
Artykuł omawia wydane w marcu 2013 r. przez Amerykańskie Towarzystwo Kardiologiczne zalecenia mające na celu oszacowanie i optymalizację wyników przeżycia pacjentów po nagłym zatrzymaniu krążenia w warunkach szpitalnych (IHCA, in-hospital cardiac arrest). W omawianym dokumencie zwrócono uwagę m.in. na potrzebę optymalizacji zasad organizacji pomocy w przypadku IHCA, zasugerowano wiele szczegółowych elementów, na które należy zwrócić uwagę przy organizacji w szpitalu pomocy w przypadku IHCA. Ważnym elementem omówionym w konsensusie są także różne aspekty i skutki decyzji o niepodejmowaniu czynności reanimacyjnych. Dodatkowym, bardzo przydatnym elementem omawianych wytycznych jest również charakterystyka zespołu poresuscytacyjnego: jego patofizjologia, obraz kliniczny i proponowane leczenie.
