Abstrakt
Zwężenie tętnicy nerkowej (ZTN) może być przyczyną niewydolności nerek i nadciśnienia tętniczego. Prospektywne, randomizowane badania dowiodły, że ZTN zwiększa ryzyko sercowo-naczyniowe, nerkowe i zgonu. Dotychczasowe dane pokazują, iż leczenie farmakologiczne nie jest wystarczająco skuteczne, a leczenie inwazyjne wzbudza wiele kontrowersji. Wieloośrodkowe, prospektywne badania, w tym opublikowane ostatnio badanie CORAL, nie dowiodły korzyści z rewaskularyzacji jako uzupełnienia leczenia farmakologicznego. Wyniki tych badań będą miały istotny wpływ na kształtowanie wytycznych dotyczących postępowania w ZTN.
